How do I move to a new phone?

On your old phone, go to Settings › Create encrypted backup, choose a password and save the file somewhere off the phone, like a computer or USB drive. Install Arms & Ammo Log on the new phone, tap Restore from a backup on the welcome screen, set a PIN for the new phone, then choose the file and enter the password. Your records and settings come across; the new phone keeps its own PIN. There’s no cloud copy, on purpose.

I forgot my backup password. Can you recover it?

No. Nobody can, including us: the password is the only way to open the file. While you still have the app, make a new backup with a new password.

I forgot my app PIN.

Tap Forgot PIN? on the lock screen and confirm with your phone’s own screen lock, then set a new PIN. Nothing is lost.

My phone was lost, reset or broken. Can I get my data back?

Only from a backup file. Your records were only on that phone, encrypted with that phone’s key, so without a backup they can’t be recovered. That’s why Home reminds you once your last backup is more than 30 days old.

How do I get Pro back on a new phone?

Sign in to the same Google account, then open Settings › Arms & Ammo Log Pro › Restore purchases.

How do I cancel the yearly plan?

In the app, open Settings › Arms & Ammo Log Pro › Manage subscription, which takes you to Google Play. Nothing you’ve recorded is lost; only adding past the free limits stops.

Does the app need the internet?

No. It has no internet permission. Only buying Pro goes through the Google Play app, which uses your connection.

Why are my screenshots black?

Hide in recent apps also blocks screenshots. Turn it off in Settings › App lock.
