Gun cleaning log and round count tracker
Know how many rounds each gun has fired since you last cleaned it. Arms & Ammo Log counts them from your range trips, reminds you when a gun is due, and keeps a dated log of every cleaning.
Rounds fired add up from your range trips
When you record a range trip, you add the ammo you shot and pick the firearm that fired it. If only one of your guns takes that caliber, it’s picked for you. Saving the trip takes those boxes out of your stock and adds the rounds to that firearm.
Each firearm’s page shows its rounds fired in total and, once you set a reminder, the rounds since its last cleaning. There’s nothing to count by hand and no separate round counter to keep up to date.
Set a cleaning reminder every so many rounds
Edit a firearm and fill in Clean every (rounds), for example 500. Leave it blank and that gun has no reminder. Each gun has its own number, so a rimfire plinker and a carry pistol can follow different schedules.
The firearm’s page then shows progress as “340 of 500”. Once it reaches the number, it reads “Due: 550 of 500” and a notice appears on Home, which opens that gun’s page.

Log each cleaning
Tap Log cleaning on the firearm’s page, keep today’s date or pick another, and add a note if you like, such as “full clean and lube”. The count since cleaning starts again from that date. Past cleanings are listed with their dates and notes; deleting one asks first and can be undone.

Like the rest of your records, the rounds and cleanings are encrypted on your phone, with no account and no internet access, and they go into your encrypted backups.
How often should you clean a gun?
There’s no single number. Your firearm’s manual is the place to start: follow the manufacturer’s cleaning and maintenance instructions for your model. Beyond that, many owners:
- clean after each range session, or every few hundred rounds for a gun that sees a lot of use;
- clean sooner after shooting in rain, dust or sand, or after corrosive ammunition;
- check a carry gun regularly for lint and dirt, even when it hasn’t been fired;
- inspect and wipe down guns in storage now and then, so rust doesn’t start unnoticed.
Always make sure a firearm is unloaded, with the ammunition in another room, before you clean it. See our firearm safety basics.

Questions
Does the cleaning reminder send a phone notification?
No. The app has no notification permission, so it never pops up on its own. When a firearm is due, a notice shows on the app’s Home screen and on that firearm’s page.
Is the cleaning reminder free?
Yes. Rounds fired, the cleaning reminder and the cleaning log are free for every firearm you keep. The free version keeps up to 3 firearms; Pro removes that limit.
What if I never logged a cleaning?
Then every round fired with that gun on your range trips counts toward the reminder. Log a cleaning and the count starts again from that date.
